Lise Carlaw and Sarah Wills to leave Hit Network’s Gold Coast breakfast team

After a year as part of the Hit 90.9 Brekkie Crew, Lise Carlaw and Sarah Wills are exiting the Gold Coast breakfast show, leaving co-hosts Dan Anstey and Ben Hannant to continue alone in the slot.

The pair will continue their Hit Network early breakfast national program, Those Two Girls, which runs from 5-6 am on weekdays.

Carlaw and Wills said the long hours were to blame for their departure, but thanked the station for its support over the 12 months.

Carlaw and Wills are leaving the Hit 90.9 breakfast show

“Last year, when we accepted the network’s offer to join the Gold Coast breakfast show – it was a huge surprise, and we were excited but here’s the thing: it’s four hours of radio, two shows a day, there’s a lot of time and preparation behind the scenes. Plus, our families are in Brisbane – so there are personal commitments and logistics we have to consider,” they said.

“This is why we’re streamlining and are grateful to the Hit Network for allowing us to step away from the Brekkie Crew and focus our energy on our early breakfast show.”

The pair will host their final show on Friday July 17. As of yet there is no announcement for a replacement.

It’s also been 12 months since Hit 90.9 rebranded from Sea FM, bringing it in line with the national Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) branding. The station also appointed a new content director in 2019, with Alisson Longhurst taking over from Corey Kay as he moved to Gold 92.5.
