Masterchef stays above 1m metro viewers for its third episode
Ten’s revamped Masterchef has managed to stay above 1m metro viewers for the third night in a row, drawing 1.032m metro viewers on Wednesday night. The show premiered for 2020 with 1.268m metro viewers and drew 1.094m for its second outing.
The show, which features the three new judges Jock Zonfrillo, Melissa Leong and Andy Allen, also topped all three of the key advertising demographics – 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.
Nine’s A Current Affair brought in 735,000 metro viewers at 7pm followed by 522,000 for Paramedics at 8pm, while Seven’s Modern Family brought in 315,000. Nationally, Masterchef delivered 1.349m, A Current Affair 845,000, Paramedics 770,000 and Modern Family 453,000.
The most-watched program for the night overall was Seven News which held 1.316m metro viewers and 2.039m nationally. Nine News delivered 1.094m metro and 1.444m nationally, and ABC News 951,000 and 1.366m.
On ABC, 752,000 metro viewers tuned in for 7.30, 733,000 for Hard Quiz and 675,000 for Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell. 484,000 metro viewers tuned in for You Can’t Ask That.
The Project again got a boost, holding 667,000 metro viewers at 7pm. It also took second spot in the 16-39s and 18-49s, while Seven News took it in 25-54s.
Nine won the night overall with a network audience share of 25.7% and a primary channel share of 17.4%. Ten held 24.4% and 16.9%, and Seven secured 21.7% and 13.7%. ABC held 19.8% and 15.0%, and SBS 8.4% and 4.3%. The most-watched multi-channel was 10 Bold with 4.6%.
