Masterclasses in behavioural insights and agency village optimisation added to CommsCon Conference 2025

A masterclass in using behavioural insights to supercharge PR strategies and creative campaigns, and how the agency village can optimise itself to deliver next-level outcomes are the latest sessions to be added to the line-up for Mumbrella’s CommsCon 2025 conference.

The behavioural insights talk – ‘Why Every Comms Brief is a Behaviour Change Challenge’ – will be delivered by Elly Hewitt, national chief executive officer (CEO) of the Mumbrella Award-winning PR agency, alt/shift/.

During her session, Hewitt will deep dive into how PR agencies can more effectively dissect their client briefs to deliver campaigns that smash communications and business objectives, while making them inherently creative to leave a long-lasting impact on audiences.

With Hewitt’s more-than-10-years of experience in communications and media on full display, delegates can expect to leave her session with all the tips and tricks they need to identify critical audience behaviours and motivations, and position themselves as indisputable strategists and partners for their clients.

Reimagining the Agency Village for Creative Effectiveness’ is the second newly-announced talk for the event.

Dena Vassallo, the CEO and founder of SOCIETY – a marketing communications agency she founded in 2017 – is booked for the session. During her time on the CommsCon stage, Vassallo will discuss agency villages and the challenges they face in fostering equitable relationships and, by extension, optimal results.

Conference attendees sitting in on this presentation will be exposed to the outcomes generated by effective agency village collaboration; the benefits of removing egos from the equation – and if there are any doubts, Vassallo’s real case studies of seamless agency collaboration is expected to dispel them.

Hewitt and Vassallo’s sessions sit alongside an expanding roster of engaging and industry-defining talks.

Kirsty Dunn, Tinder Australia’s director of communications, is already booked to share how the dating app is cultivating brand loyalty and trust despite any negative perceptions that permeate audiences’ views on the platform. At the same time, Poem’s founder Rob Lowe, and creative director, Jess Cluff, are scheduled to explore the place of earned creatives in the communications industry’s future, and how professionals in the field can nurture talent that unlocks the vital skillset.

Third Hemisphere’s Hannah Moreno and Comms Declare’s Belinda Noble are also gearing up to discuss greenwashing in the communications industry, with Moreno’s colleague Jeremy Liddle moderating.

Next year’s Mumbrella CommsCon Conference will take place on March 27, 2025, at ILUMINA in Sydney.

And when day turns to night, the event’s awards -the Mumbrella CommsCon Awards 2025 – will take place at the same location.

A celebration of all things excellent in the communications and PR sectors, the first entry deadline for the awards ceremony is in one month – December 3, 2024.
