M&C Saatchi’s Re appoints Debbie Spence as head of strategy

M&C Saatchi’s design and experience business Re has appointed Debbie Spence as its new head of strategy, leading the expanded brand and experience team.

The agency has recently expanded into Melbourne, with a team of five led by creative director Shannon Bell.

Spence brings to the business over 20 years of experience in brand strategy and human-centred design.

Re founder and CEO, Patrick Guerrera, said the business looks forward to incorporating Spence’s ability into its digital offerings.

“We’re thrilled to have Debbie with us and leading a growing team that continues to deliver top strategic thinking for our clients across all stages of their growth cycle. Her experience leading complex strategic programs will be a vital component as we fast track our digital capabilities for our growing client base,” said Guerrera.

Commenting on her appointment, Spence said: “I’m endlessly fascinated by the interactions between brands, technology, places and people. Re is a place where we can lead with not just how we do work but the way in which we work together as colleagues, clients and with brands. I’m excited to be joining at this pivotal time of growth as we expand our offer.”

Joining the team are three new strategists including Mehnaaz Ahmed, previously a brand strategist at Uberbrand, who joins to focus on Optus; Maxime Delplanque from branding agency Houston who will focus on Woolworths and former CommBank people consultant Juliana Klein.
