Prior to his time at JWT, he spent four months as the executive planning director at Naked Communications, and seven years at BMF Advertising.

In his new role, McCrudden will be taking on a leadership position within the agency and determining the strategic direction of key McCann Melbourne clients including the University of Melbourne, Work Safe, L’Oreal Paris, Maybelline, Bakers Delight, Victoria Racing Club and Melbourne Airport Parking.

Chief strategy officer at McCann Melbourne, Fran Clayton, said in a statement: “We are delighted to have Simon on board, he and I share the view that truth well told is more important than ever before.”

Managing director, Georgie Pownall said: “We’re really chuffed that Simon’s coming on board. He’s as excited as I am about the opportunities for our industry in this time of change. He’ll bring some fresh energy and will be an asset to us as we continue to shape a new vision for McCann Melbourne.”

McCrudden stated: “I can’t wait to get started at McCann. Everyone I met from Georgie, Woody and Pat in Melbourne, to Nic and Fran at a national level, have a huge hunger to do distinctive and interesting work that delivers transformative results for clients. McCann are doing this brilliantly around the world, and I’m excited to be able to join the team and help deliver this here in Melbourne too.”
