ME Bank, Athena, Suncorp Group, WISR and more to speak at the Mumbrella Finance Marketing Summit

James Goodwin, head of marketing at WISR, Gayle While, deputy CEO at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, Melody Townsend, GM of product and network marketing and customer experience at ME Bank, and Fiona Nixon, head of strategy and communications at Bank Australia, will explain what they believe is next for marketers in four mini presentations followed by a group discussion.

Dinsdale was behind the “f*** fees” campaign line for Athena

A brand that believes it’s a landscape of opportunity is challenger brand Athena, whose CMO Natalie Dinsdale will present a session on challenging the conservatism in finance marketing.

After its campaign that told consumers to “f*** fees”, Dinsdale will elaborate on the marketing tactics she is pursuing that are giving Athena a foothold in a crowded market suffering from a lack of consumer attention.

Tweedly, Ponce de Leon and Behr will explain how brands can reach consumers who have tuned out

On the topic of consumer attention, Mark Behr, an executive manager of marketing at Suncorp Group will join David Ponce de Leon, executive creative director at Ogilvy Melbourne, and Sara Tweedly, group executive of digital and marketing at Canstar, to explore how financial institutions can truly connect with their audience.

Is it all about simplifying product or should brands be focusing more on listening to consumer needs? Will consumers ever really care about a product that is more terms and conditions than pretty packaging? The panel of senior leaders will deliver a range of advice on how to really connect, and what to avoid.

Pollard will dive into the importance of the retail space for financial institutions

Meanwhile, Public Design Group director of retail strategy, Jason Pollard, will lift the lid on the in-store customer experience when it comes to financial institutions.

Public Design Group has done work for BOQ, CUA, RACQ, Bendigo Bank and more, and Pollard will explain strategies and techniques for creating real communities, the experiences customers are looking for in-store, and creating significant impact through the in-store experience.
