Mediacom head of strategy Mat Maroni joins Clemenger BBDO Sydney

Matt MoroniClemenger BBDO Sydney has appointed Mediacom Sydney head of strategy Mat Maroni as a planning director.

He had been with Mediacom in Sydney and London for the last eight years, and had led communications strategy for clients such as Foxtel and Canon.

Al Crawford, executive planning director of Clemenger BBDO Sydney, said: “I’ve worked with Mat for a number of years now on shared clients, so I know how amazing he is.  He’s exactly what I’m looking for in a planner: brilliant at coming up with big, enduring brand ideas, but also savvy about how those ideas can come to life in the real world.  He’s going to be a massive asset for us and our clients and we’re delighted to have him on board.”

Maroni will be a planning director on Clemenger BBDO Sydney clients Virgin Australia and Campbell Arnott’s. The Campbell Arnott’s account is currently out for pitch with incumbents Clemenger and DDB Sydney fighting it out with Ogilvy and BMF for the full account.
