Australian Radio Network’s Gold has claimed the outright lead for FM stations in the Monday to Sunday radio ratings figures after tying with Southern Cross Austero’s Triple M in the previous radio survey.

Gold boosted its audience share by 0.8 share points to claim the lead with a share of 8.7 per cent, while Triple M also boosted its audience by 0.7 share points to secure second place with a share of 8.6 per cent.

FoxFM also posted an increase in audience, boosting its numbers by 0.8 share points to grab a Monday to Sunday share of 7.7 per cent, while SmoothFM grabbed a share of 7.5 and Nova maintained its share of 6.3 per cent.

In Breakfast, despite an increase of 1.4 share points to 7.7 per cent share Gold’s Brig and Lehmo were unable to beat Triple M’s Hot Breakfast team of Eddie McGuire, Luke Darcy and Mick Molloy who held onto their FM ratings crown after boosting their share by 0.4 share points, a 9.6 per cent share.

KiisFM’s breakfast duo Jane Hall and Matt Tilley increased their share by 1.2 share points to an audience share of 7.1 per cent to hold onto third place in the FM heap while FoxFM’s breakfast team Fifi Box and Dave Thornton lifted by 1 share point to a share of 6.8 per cent.

In Drive, Kiis101.1’s Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek saw their audience grow by 1.1 share points  to claim the number one FM spot with an audience share of 9.4 per cent.

Southern Cross Austereo’s FoxFM, which had the number one Drive show in the previous survey, tied for second place with sister station Triple M’s Rush Hour (3pm-5pm) and Merrick (Watts) and Australia (5pm-7pm) with both posting an audience share of 8.8 per cent.

Nova’s Drive team of Kate, Tim and Marty boosted their share by 0.8 share points to claim third place with an audience share of 8.7 per cent.

In the AM heap, Fairfax Radio’s 3AW continued to see its Monday to Sunday share decline, with its audience dropping by 1.6 share points. However it still managed to win overall with a share of 12.1 per cent while ABC 774, which also saw its audience decline by 0.6 share points, settled for second place with a share of 10.9.

In Breakfast, 3AW’s Ross and John won the overall breakfast crown with a share of 16.5 per cent, down from the last survey’s share of 19 per cent. ABC774 also posted declines, with its Breakfast share slipping by 0.7 share points to settle on 13.4 per cent.

The declines continued in the Morning timeslot (9am – 12pm), with ABC774’s Mornings with Jon Faine claiming victory with a share of 14.8 despite a decrease of 0.2 share points, as 3AW’s Neil Mitchell posted a share of 11.1, a decrease of 1.6 share points.

In Drive, both stations continued to see declines, however 3AW managed to finish on top with a share of 10.1, down by 1.7 share points. ABC774 saw its share slip by 0.7 share points to a total share of 8.9 per cent.
