The merger will be televised

The conspiracy theorists who believe that the News Corp – Ten merger has already taken place and we simply haven’t been given the memo yet will have new ammo after the last couple of days.

Fair to say that Sydney’s Sunday Telegraph was somewhat supportive to Ten’s big launch. The paper’s TV column was given over entirely to the topic of breakfast television with the first three items directly about Ten’s Wake Up and Studio 10.

That’s Studio 10, co-presented by The Daily Telegraph’s Joe Hildebrand.

That’s Ten, chaired and part owned by Lachlan Murdoch.

Then came Wake Up’s launch, featuring crosses to the news.com.au newsroom with headlines read by the website’s Alison Stephenson.
