Microsoft hires Andy Coughlin to run marketing and retail
Microsoft Australia has appointed Andy Coughlin as head of retail sales and marketing.

SYDNEY – September 8, 2011 – Andy Coughlin has been announced as the new Retail Sales & Marketing Lead, Microsoft Australia. Andy will have responsibility for all Microsoft products sold at retail, including Xbox 360, Kinect, Xbox LIVE, Windows 7, Office for PC and Mac, Microsoft Hardware and Games.
Andy has worked at Microsoft for ten years, most recently as the Retail Sales & Marketing Sales Director for Australia and New Zealand, a role he moved to Australia for 18 months ago from the United States.
Reporting to David McLean, Consumer Channels Group Lead, Andy will manage Sales, Marketing, Operational Initiatives and Retail Services and will oversee growth and expansion of the RSM business in Australia.
Commenting on Andy’s appointment, David McLean said: “Andy has a deep understanding of Microsoft and all retail disciplines and will continue to be instrumental to the success of the Retail Sales and Marketing business in Australia. He is incredibly passionate and is admired by his team for his strong leadership, enthusiasm and expertise.”

Also announced today is the promotion of Clinton Ledden into the role of Head of Retail Sales. Both Andy and Clinton’s appointments are effective immediately.
