Anathea Ruys

After a long search, Mindshare has appointed a managing director to run its Melbourne office.

Anathea Ruys joins Mindshare after a year and a half with creative agency Clemenger Harvie Edge, where latterly she was MD.

She takes over from acting MD Sharon Pitcher, who returns to her previous role as general manager.

Ruys’s career to date includes a ten-year spell running Auckland activation agency Spark Activate and a stint as editor of New Idea. She also set up brand content company Fuse NZ for OMD.

Mindshare’s Melbourne office has also appointed Ilona Janashvili as head of strategy. Another hire from a creative agency, Janashvili joins from Clemenger BBDO Melbourne.

Mindshare boss James Greet said:

Janashvili

“We have spent the best part of this year searching for both a MD to lead our Melbourne business and a Head of Strategy to champion our thought leadership. We have a very clear vision for our business in Australia and one that is built upon 2 principles. Firstly that we are in the business of providing our clients with original thinking, specifically original media thinking, that shows them how media can build their business. Secondly, that in our world we can only achieve this vision with the right talent. That is why we have been patient and diligent in our search.
