Mumbrella CommsCon and Awards 2022 confirmed with industry leaders from Sling & Stone, Edelman and Sefiani

Industry leaders from Sling & Stone, Edelman and Sefiani Communications are confirmed to speak at Mumbrella CommsCon 2022, taking place on 19 May at the Four Seasons Hotel, Sydney.

Positioned as a physical event featuring two streams, the conference will be followed by the Mumbrella CommsCon Awards in the evening at the same venue.

In a fireside chat, Sling & Stone founder and CEO Vuki Vujasinovic will discuss the journey of the PR and communications agency following its acquisition by VCCP Business in September 2021.

Vujasinovic will explore the impacts and pressures of rapid growth, international expansion, and growing during the pandemic throughout the building of one of the biggest indie PR agencies in Australia.

Edelman’s head of talent and engagement, Lynnette Edmonds will address the layers and opportunities of today’s talent challenges, amid the phenomenon known as ‘The Great Resignation’.

Against the crisis facing the marketing and PR industry, one of its own making, Edmonds will reveal ways to stem the bloodletting, exploring ways to cultivate the culture your business needs to retain and engage talent now, and into the future.

Meanwhile, Sefiani’s Mandy Galmes and Julia Hoy will position November’s COP26 as a key moment to demonstrate vision, leadership and to re-engage with stakeholders. The pair will challenge businesses to have a voice in the sustainability conversation, and present the elements that companies and leaders need in order to authentically embed sustainability into their narrative.

Further speakers and sessions will be announced in the coming weeks.

Entries are also open for the 2022 Mumbrella CommsCon Awards, with 23 categories available open for submission. Held immediately following the CommsCon Summit on 19 May, the Awards celebrate the biggest achievements in the PR and communications industry at a gala event. Of note is a new category, Best Sustained COVID-19 Initiative, recognising continued efforts to navigate the difficult circumstances that
persist amid COVID-19. The first entry deadline for the 2022 Mumbrella CommsCon Awards is 18 February, with the final deadline on 2 February.
