Nine narrowly wins Sunday ahead of Seven
Seven News and its current affairs show Sunday Night had a strong night of viewing yesterday, while Ten’s Masterchef’s Challenge episode managed to narrowly rate ahead of Nine’s Underbelly.
In free-to-air viewing share however, Nine narrowly won with 26 per cent, followed by Seven with 25.8 per cent and Ten with 19.1 per cent.
The previous Sunday Nine’s won by a wider margin, with a 29.3 per cent share, compard to Seven’s 25.3 per cent and Ten with 18.5 per cent.
Last night, Seven’s evening news came in on top with 1.843m average viewers according to preliminary overnight OzTam data in the main metro markets.
Masterchef – Challenge won its 7:30pm time slot and was also the second most-watched show with 1.671m.
In overall Sunday ratings, the cooking show beat Underbelly: The Golden Mile which won its 8:30pm slot, with 1.645m.
But among younger viewers, Underbelly was ahead of Masterchef – number one among 16-39s and 18-49s. It also led among 25-54s.
Meanwhile, Ten’s 6pm broadcast of Jessica Watson: Sailing into History saw 400,000 tune in.
