Nine secures an easy Sunday night win as The Block soars past 1m metro viewers

The Block is still delivering for Nine, handing the network an easy win on Sunday night as it pushed back past 1m metro viewers. 1.087m metro viewers tuned in to the renovation show on Sunday evening, and 1.49m national viewers, making it the most-watched program of the night.

The show also helped Nine to an easy key advertising demographic win, as the most-watched program in all three – 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s – followed by 60 Minutes and Nine News.

The Block is still delivering for Nine

Nine held a massive 25.6% audience share as a channel and 35.8% as a network, sitting easily above Seven on 17.4% and 25.8%, ABC’s 10.6% and 15.3% and Ten’s 9.3% and 13.7%.

Beyond The Block, the most-watched entertainment program of the night was ABC drama Total Control which delivered 495,000 metro viewers. Seven’s Bride and Prejudice brought in 440,000, while Ten’s most popular programming was The Sunday Project at 7pm with 353,000 metro viewers.

In the new battle, Seven News was the winner on 901,000 metro viewers and 1.304m national, compared to 867,000 for Nine News and 1.141m nationally. ABC News delivered 633,000 metro and 954,000 national.

Ten’s Supercars coverage which ran in the middle of the day brought in 286,000 metro viewers for day two of the Gold Coast 600. 509,000 national viewers tuned in for the race.

9Go was the most-watched multi-channel with a 4.2% audience share.
