Nivea asks men: ‘shave it or save it’
Men’s skin care brand Nivea has launched a campaign during the moustache-growing month of ‘Movember’ that asks Australian men if they should keep their beards or shave them off.
The campaign, created by Orchard, asks men to join football star David “Wolfman” Williams and send in a photo of their beard for others to vote on Nivea’s website.
Contest winners stand to get iPads, Nivea hampers and a Men’s Health magazine subscriptions.
Nivea’s digital marketing manager Phoebe Adams said: “The site has been enhanced to cater to those that don’t have facial hair with the introduction of the Hair-O-Matic tool. This has meant we can now appeal to not only the consumer but also the shopper which in 50% of cases for the brand is female.”
Nivea for Men brand manager Sacha Maybery said: ‘The campaign worked extremely well in driving both engagement and sales last year and it made complete sense to evolve it again in 2012.”

Clever idea, I do have to wonder if Nivea will be donating to the cause they’re piggybacking from?
