Nova taps Seven executive for digital commercial director

Evadne Janeke
Nova has appointed Evadne Janeke as its new digital commercial director.
Janeke was previously Seven West Media’s head of commercial product and digital operations, and has worked in senior positions at News Corp, Pacific Magazines, and agency OMD Australia.
In her new role, Janeke will lead digital sales, commercial product, data, and digital solutions across the network’s streaming, podcast and retail platforms.
This appointment comes as Nova makes moves to expand its digital footprint. The network’s streaming stations joined the Apple TV ecosystem last week, and were embedded into Google TV and Android TV apps earlier this year.
Nicole Bence, Nova’s chief commercial officer, said in a media release that Janeke “brings a wealth of experience and perspective from her extensive career working across media owners, agencies and publishers.”
Bence said this appointment “completes our senior sales leadership team at a pivotal time.” She continued: “As we scale our digital audiences, it’s critical we have the right products in market to deliver both the magic and the method behind world-class audio campaigns.”
Janeke said she is “excited to help shape the commercial products that will unlock new opportunities for clients and audiences.”
Evadne will report to Bence, and replaces Michelle Golding, who was recently appointed Nova’s director of digital strategy, capabilities, and data.
Golding recently spoke to Mumbrella about the expansion of the company’s digital distribution.
“It’s very much a lean-in by Nova to really expand on ways that our listeners and our audiences can reach Nova, in an environment that works for them,” Golding told Mumbrella of the move to connected TVs.
“If you take the life cycle of a listener throughout the day — on the go with the commute [to] at home — it’s about Nova being front of mind, but also being in a contextually relevant environment. How can we be there, where our listeners are, and deepen that engagement?
“I think for us, it’s making sure that [it’s] where we can get the amplification. We’re definitely innovating and evolving what we do and how Nova and also the wider Nova brands, are across platforms where listeners want to listen.”
