Ogilvy Sydney hires Damjanovski and Merrifield to boost digital expertise

Ogilvy & Mather Sydney has bolstered its digital department with the appointment of BMF strategist Damian Damjanovski and former Saatch & Saatchi digital creative director, Brian Merrifield.

The two will work together at the agency and report to digital CD Chris James.

Damjanovski left BMF last week in his role as a digital strategist.

James has also previously worked at BMF as digital creative director. He left the agency in April last year and joined Ogilvy in August.

Merrifield has most recently been carrying out freelance digital creative work at Three Drunk Monkeys. He was also previously a senior digital creative at Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand.

James told Mumbrella: “The pairing of a strategist and a creative will allow us to think very differently. Around 60 per cent of their work will be on pro-active projects for clients based on identifying business issues and coming up with answers that may be innovative technology or creative – not necessarily marketing.

“The other 40 per cent of their work will be on live briefs with the agency.”
