Paspaley pays homage to Greek island Kastellorizo in anniversary campaign

Pearl jeweller Paspaley is celebrating 100 years since its founder arrived in Australia, launching a campaign that pays homage to the Greek island of Kastellorizo where Nicholas Paspaley Snr was from.

The ad stars Australian actress Pia Miller, performing a dance in the streets of Kastellorizo that was choreographed by Supple Nam.

The campaign was created by 72 and Sunny, which won the creative account for Paspaley Retail in March last year. The film was shot by Joseph Kahn and photography was completed by Jennifer Stenglein. The film is backed by Australian artist Milan Ring’s track ‘Green Light’.

A documentary has also been created, telling the story of the Paspaley family and how the brand came to life in Australia.

Johnny Tan, 72 and Sunny executive creative director, said: “It’s an honour to be able to help this incredible brand mark such an important milestone. A 100-year journey that reflects the spirit of the Paspaley woman. Kastellorizo was a dream; Joseph and Pia brought true magic to this story.”

Paspaley head of marketing, Iris Kleimann, said: “The creative approach taken by 72andSunny has delivered a captivating campaign celebrating our brand’s rich history and the beauty of Paspaley pearls. It was an inspiring experience working with world class creative talent on the shoot in Kastellorizo.”

The campaign will run across Qantas Inflight Entertainment, online, OOH and digital OOH, print and social.
