Paul Kent let go by News Corp following street fight

Journalist and TV presenter Paul Kent has reportedly been let go by News Corp following his involvement in a street brawl in late April.

According to The Australian, the NRL 360 host was officially dismissed by News Corp on Monday.

Kent, who also writes for The Daily Telegraph, was charged with one count of affray after footage of the brawl filmed outside of the Totti’s restaurant in Rozelle began circulating, showing Kent engaged in a verbal altercation with another man as others attempted to intervene.

The incident quickly escalated to a physical altercation, where the video showed Kent being thrown into the stump of a tree.

Shortly after the footage hit social media, News Corp Australia and Fox Sports confirmed Kent had been “stood down pending an immediate investigation”.

A six-week adjournment has reportedly been put in place so Kent can seek a treatment plan for mental health and alcohol treatment. The case resumes in court on Wednesday.

Mumbrella has contacted News Corp for comment, as well as Foxtel, regarding his NRL hosting duties.
