News Corp journalist Paul Kent arrested and charged by police following street fight
News Corp and journalist and Fox Sports presenter, Paul Kent, has been charged by NSW Police following his involvement in a street brawl this past weekend.
Just days after a 35-year-old man was charged – believed to be the person Kent can be seen fighting with in a video shared on social media – police confirmed on Wednesday that “a 54-year-old man was arrested at Newtown Police Station” and charged with one count of affray.
“The 54-year-old was granted bail to appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 24 May 2024,” the statement by police reads.
On Sunday, footage of the brawl outside the Totti’s restaurant in Rozelle began circulating, showing the NRL 360 TV host engaged in a verbal altercation with another man as others attempted to intervene.
However, the incident escalated to a physical altercation, where the video shows Kent being thrown into the stump of a tree.
Shortly after the footage hit social media, News Corp Australia and Fox Sports confirmed Kent had been “stood down pending an immediate investigation”.
According to SMH, Kent was being treated in hospital this week due to injuries sustained in the brawl, including a reported suspected collapsed lung and up to five broken ribs.
Mumbrella has contacted News Corp and Foxtel for further comment.

Time to let this individual ( Kent) go for good. It is an embarrassment to see him on TV arguing about the behaviour of NRL players and he is not better. Not to forget the previous incident…also a violent act to a women. Enough is enough ‼️‼️
