PayPal on the hunt for a new marketing director as Elaine Herlihy moves on to OFX

PayPal’s marketing director Elaine Herlihy has taken up the CMO role at foreign exchange and payments company OFX.

While PayPal hunts for a replacement, the company’s head of business marketing, Vanessa Lennon, will take on the leading marketing position.

Herlihy has begun her new role with OFX

Herlihy joined PayPal back in 2016, after various roles at Westpac including head of strategic brand and planning, head of marketing and brand, and finishing up as head of multi-brand mass marketing and Westpac marketing brand. She has also previously worked in marketing at BT Financial Group and Thomson Reuters.

PayPal Australia’s managing director Libby Roy paid tribute to Herlihy’s time at the helm of the brand’s marketing function.

“Under Elaine’s tenure as marketing director, the PayPal Australia marketing team went from strength to strength and transformed the way we engage with our customers, while remaining committed and focused on building and expanding the PayPal brand in Australia,” she said.

“On behalf of all of us at PayPal, both in Australia and the broader global team, I’d like to thank Elaine for her contributions and wish her all the best for her future endeavours.”

OFX and Herlihy have been approached for comment about her new role.
