Publicis Sapient appoints Ben Moir as director of product engineering

Publicis Sapient, the digital transformation hub of Publicis Groupe, has announced the appointment of Ben Moir as director of product engineering.

The agency said the appointment signals the depth of its investment in product engineering resources, off the back of a global rebrand that involved the retirement of its legacy brands.

Moir was the lead engineer at Snepo Research

Sarah Adam-Gedge, managing director of Publicis Sapient Australia, said in a statement she was delighted to welcome Moir to the team.

“I am certain he will have a big impact on our people and our clients, contributing significantly to Publicis Sapient’s commitment to being an agile and disruptive world-class digital business transformation leader,” she said.

“Our business is in an exciting phase of transition and strong growth and as part of this we are expanding in our areas of strength, particularly around financial services, and we are pushing harder into other sectors like education, energy and automotive. With this in mind, we are constantly evolving and are committed to attracting the best people in the industry with diverse backgrounds and experience.”

Moir is a qualified electrical engineer and technologist with close to 20 years’ industry experience. He has worked in Australia, the US, China, Singapore, Chile and Europe, won the Victorian Premier’s Design Award, and been recognised with awards at Cannes Lions, London International, Spikes Asia, New York Festivals and D&AD.

Most recently, Moir was the founder, director and lead engineer at Snepo Research. For 13 years at Snepo, he worked with clients including Lend Lease, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Westfield, Museum Victoria, Stockland, Electrolux, Virgin Mobile, Subaru, Audi, ABC, and SBS. He is also the co-founder of startup Wearable X, named one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies in 2017.

“I am thrilled to be joining the exceptional Publicis Sapient team and am looking forward to working with our client partners to push fearlessly into the space between now and next,” Moir said of his appointment.

“I believe that the future will look very different from what we predict, and that it’s important to imagine our lives well, using technology for good in the infinite possibilities.”
