Queen’s Birthday honour for Harold Mitchell
Media agency boss Harold Mitchell has received one of Australia’s greatest accolades, being appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia for his philanthropic work in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
Mitchell, chairman of the Mitchell Communication Group, was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia six years ago.
The recognition is for his philanthropic work including service to arts organisations such as the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and the Opera Australia Council. He is also chairman of CARE Australia, and a director of Tennis Australia and the Asthma Foundation of Victoria.
Tim Burrowes founded Mumbrella in 2008. He worked on Mumbrella until 2021. At various points he was editor, content director and editor-at-large.
