British comedian Ricky Gervais utters just one word in the latest ad in his series for Optus spruiking the telco’s entertainment offering.
The ad opens on Gervais reading a newspaper in an opulent bathroom with the star of The Office sat in the bathtub reading a newspaper.
Then he puts the paper down, looks at the camera and says “Optus”.
It follows on from his last anti-ad which looked as if it had been recorded on his mobile in the bathtub again.
That ad was also shown on TV, despite being filmed vertically.
The campaign has been created by content agency Emotive, who won the Grand Prix at BEFest for the series which started with a promotion for Netflix.
Separately the telco has also released a video promoting its deal with Cricket Australia giving it access to all the match highlights and live streaming on mobile via the Cricket Australia app.
The videos feature Australian cricketers including Glenn Maxwell and Aaron Finch, with the first telling people the devices they can stream on:
