Robin Bailey shares heartfelt statement mourning the loss of husband Sean Pickwell

Former radio executive Sean Pickwell has passed away from cancer, with his wife, radio personality Robin Bailey, calling on supporters, friends and fans to give blood, or donate money in his memory.

Pickwell is a former Southern Cross Austereo executive and has worked with 2UE as well as consulting for brands. He was given six months to live in July 2018.

Bailey finished up on Southern Cross Austero’s Triple M Brisbane last week, where she co-hosted The Big Breakfast alongside Nick Cody and Greg Martin. She left so she could spend more time with Pickwell.

Margaux Parker was brought over from 92.5 Gold FM to take up Bailey’s place.

Taking to Instagram to share a statement, Bailey said Pickwell had passed away earlier this morning, at home, surrounded by family.

“In this moment there are no words or feelings that can truly express the love and gratitude I have for my husband Sean Pickwell,” Bailey said on the social media platform.

“He came into our lives and healed us. He loved me so hard and taught me so much and now whatever life throws at us we will be stronger, wiser and more fierce because of him. He was my absolute soul mate, the true love of my life and whatever I do from now on he will be in my heart and in my corner cheering me on.”

Bailey goes on to urge anyone who’s life was touched by Pickwell to give blood or donate to Karuna, a not-for-profit organisation which supports people preparing for the end of their lives.

Bailey’s first husband Tony Smart died in 2014 after a battle with depression.
