Samsung Ads recruits new trio to bolster sales capabilities

Samsung Ads Australia is expanding its Sydney-based team, with the arrivals of three new appointments.

Laura Wall, formerly of Shopper Media Group, will join as head of agency, Luke Fox, ex-BBC Global News will join as client solutions manager and Sharon Miranda previously of News Corp will take up the role of head of operations for Samsung Ads Australia.

This follows Samsung Ads soft launch into the Australian market at the back end of 2020, and Alex Spurzem’s appointment as general manager in July 2020.

Alex Spurzem, general manager of Samsung Ads Australia

Samsung’s TV Plus was launched in December 2020, with limited promotion, with the platform supported by advertising, and free to owners of a Samsung Smart TV model dated 2017 and onwards.

Samsung Ads Australia was launched following this move into the Connected TV market, and increased demand for audience insights from advertisers. The smart TV advertising solution is built data from millions of connected Smart TV’s across Australia and globally.

These new appointments will allow Samsung Ads Australia to drive new partnerships and awareness in the region. Each will report directly to Spurzem.

Spurzem said: “The combined expertise and market knowledge of these industry veterans will be huge assets to our business, enabling us to work ever more closely with advertisers and agencies to support their needs. We are always working to build out our proposition and help unlock the potential of CTV for our clients, and Laura, Luke and Sharon are the team to do it.”

This article was updated to amend the Smart TV models this service is available on.
