Stevie Wonder and Andra Day star in tech-lite Christmas ad for Apple

Apple has paired up Stevie Wonder and Andra Day to duet on a revamped version of his 1967 song ‘Someday for Christmas’ for a schmaltzy festive ad which is short on technology.

While Wonder starts the ad by setting up music program Garageband on his Macbook there is a distinct lack of other products featured in the 90-second spot, which includes kids playing draughts and with a dog.

The only other Apple tech in it is Day’s Apple Watch.

It ends with the word ‘Love,’ and then the Apple symbol appearing on the screen.

The ad will be shown on TV and online in Australia across the Christmas period.

It follows on from last year’s Christmas effort by the tech brand ‘The Song’.
