Custom publisher Switzer acquires fashion magazine Russh

Switzer Media + Publishing has made a play into the consumer magazine sector with the acquisition of Australian fashion title Russh.

Russh Australia founder Ian Davies has sold the Russh masthead to Switzer.

Switzer has set up the new venture Russh Media to house the fashion magazine. Its six editorial staff will continue to work on the title, led by editor Natalie Shukur.

Launched in 2004, Russh is a bi-monthly magazine aimed at 18 to 30 year olds. It saw a 7 per cent rise in circulation to 24,905 in the six months to December last year, according to the latest Audit Bureau of Circulations figures.

Switzer Media + Publishing, founded by Maureen Jordan and part of the Switzer Group, produces and designs books, custom magazines and newsletter in print and online. Its titles include Grow Your Business magazine and Ms Entrepreneur.

The media company has also produced content for clients including the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, IBM and Optus.
