Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation premieres to 632,000 metro viewers while Masterchef takes prime time win

Nine’s revamp of Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation returned for its second season on the network last night with 632,000 metro viewers, falling short of Ten’s Masterchef.

The third episode of the 11th season of Ten’s cooking show saw 721,000 metro viewers tune in, a jump from 678,000 last night and 715,000 for the premiere on Monday when it was up against Nine’s Lego Masters.

House Rules also benefited from the lack of Lego Masters, pulling 589,000 metro viewers, up from 550,000 the night prior. It premiered to 782,000 earlier in the week.

Ten’s success continued through the key advertising demographics, where Masterchef was the top in all three – 16 – 39, 18 – 49 and 25 – 54. Bachelor in Paradise, which aired in the later slot after Masterchef to 434,000 metro viewers, took the second spot in the first two demographics while Nine News held second place in 25 – 54.

Anh’s Brush With Fame proved to be a big winner for ABC again, with 687,000 metro viewers tuning in to see the actor paint musician Tim Minchin, making it the second most watched program on the channel behind ABC News.

Seven News continued to hold the top news spot with 1.080m metro viewers tuning in, making it the most watched show of the evening.

Seven also held the top spot in the audience share, sitting on 20.1%. Nine followed on 18.4%, followed by Ten on 14.3% and ABC on 13.3%.

At a network level the results were much the same – Seven on top at 28.1% followed by Nine on 25.8%, Ten on 22.2% and ABC on 17.6%.
