Ten slips in Sunday night ratings

Ten’s Sunday night viewing is losing traction across all people in the ratings, according to preliminary reports from OzTam.

The network’s strongest night of the week saw all its primetime shows drop on last week, with all shows placing third behind Seven and Nine’s news programs as well as Seven’s Sunday Night, Border Security and The Force and Nine’s broadcast of the cricket.

Ten’s Modern Family at 8pm was the network’s strongest performer and highest rating show, taking 1.079m. It was just down on last week’s performance of 1.081m. Despite the slight viewer number drop, the show jumped from eighth to seventh spot.

The network’s new comedy New Girl, at 7:30pm, rated 1.075m, down on last week’s 1.137m.

Ten’s espionage thriller Homeland, at 8:30pm, also dropped below the million-mark, from ninth place with 1.077m last week to twelfth place with 0.901m.

House, which last week saw a series return of 0.36m, this week dropped to 0.305m in 27th place.

Young Talent Time and The Project both climbed however, with YTT taking 0.655m on last week’s 0.632m while the Project took 0.323m, up slightly on last week’s 0.318m – but still disappointing.

The network continues to post good results in the 16-39 and 18-49 categories, however. New Girl won both demographics and Modern Family came second and Homeland fourth after the one day cricket match’s second session between Australia and Sri Lanka.

The cricket on Nine placed third in total individuals, rating 1.285m. It followed Nine News Sunday in first place on 1.422m and Seven News on 1.303m. Seven’s Sunday Night fell from winning last week with 1.518m to placing sixth, rating 1.175m.

The ABC’s new period drama Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, locally produced by Every Cloud Productions, in its second episode  on Friday night took 0.868m and place fourth for the night, was repeated on ABC1 last night and took 0.271m.
