Ten’s US shows to include new 24 series and rethink of Sleepy Hollow

ten logoTen has announced the slate of new US shows it will be airing in the coming months.

The network’s key US relationships are with News Corp’s 20th Century Fox and CBS Studios.

The shows include Kiefer Sutherland’s in the return of 24 and the drama Crisis, which includes Aussie star Rachael Taylor and is directed by Phillip Noyce.

Also on the slate is a modern day version of Sleepy Hollow.

While US content has not in recent years tended to rate as well as local programming, Ten recently bucked the trend with US drama Under The Dome pulling in more than 1m viewers. US content is also cheaper to acquire but has the downside that unless it airs almost simultaneously, potential viewers see it first online.

Ten’s chief programming officer, Beverley McGarvey, said: “We are really delighted to be bringing this great mix of new comedy and drama to the Network Ten schedule. Given shows such as Elementary and Under The Dome have struck such a chord with Australian viewers this year, we are confident this new slate of content will provide our viewers with more unforgettable experiences.”
