Dr Mumbo

The media sleepout race

Screen Shot 2015-06-18 at 12.22.07 pmThe annual CEO sleepout – a major fundraiser for St Vincent de Paul – is tonight and Dr Mumbo is pleased to report that a number of bigwigs in the media and marketing world will be sleeping out.

Now, while it is a charity event, when you gather this many CEOs together it’s hard for them not to compete (just a little) for the most amount raised.

Dr Mumbo congratulates Nicholas Gray The Australian CEO, who as of 12pm today, has raised $126,000 of a $130,000 target and was running third nationally among the CEOs sleeping out.

Gray is only being beaten by the Crown Resorts chair and CEO and told Dr Mumbo he was happy with the effort, saying: “Congratulations to the staff at St Vincent de Paul for the incredible work they do to help Australia’s 100,000 homeless.

Ever the moneyman, he also thanked some of his supporters saying: “Thanks to Coles, realestate.com.au, Virgin Australia and Visy for their very generous support and to everyone both at The Australian and elsewhere who has donated to this wonderful cause.”

Dr Mumbo can report that Gray is beating some big names in the media world including Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull on $27,100 ($28,000 target) and one of Australia’s biggest media buying bosses Luke Littlefield Dentsu Aegis CEO on $6,202 of a $10,000 target.

Among the other CEOs who will be facing a cold night out are a mixture of media buyers, owners, PR and even a few marketers.

Well done to all.
