The return of the Fairfax autoplay snuff movie
Two years ago this week, Fairfax Media’s autoplay videos hit something of a new low when they delivered to site users footage of a man falling to his death.
So how have they celebrated this anniversary? With a new autoplay snuff movie. This time of an Egyptian photoagrapher being shot dead by a soldier.
Clearly the publisher knows the images could be distressing – it carries a three second warning before starting to roll the video anyway.
Still, that content isn’t going to monetise itself.
That’s not Fairfax’s only stuff up today:

Adblockplus can be tuned to stop auto-play, just run it and block Fairfax’s video servers.
