The University of Sydney shifts its creative from The Monkeys to M&C Saatchi

The University of Sydney has appointed M&C Saatchi to its creative account and reappointed digital consultancy Yango to its media and digital accounts, following a competitive tender.

The creative account has been held by The Monkeys since 2014.

The University of Sydney had worked with The Monkeys since 2014

The two agencies will be working together to continue the university’s brand platform ‘Leadership for good’ and leverage it to reach diverse audiences in Australia and internationally. They will also work with the University’s in-house team to focus on communicating the key messages of education and research.

M&C Saatchi’s research arm, The Source, will be conducting research in key international markets.

M&C Saatchi CEO, Jaimes Leggett, said the appointment was an honour.

“We are absolutely thrilled to partner with The University of Sydney. It is an honour for M&C Saatchi to be appointed by such a prestigious institution and help to realise the university’s vision further elevating its position on the global stage,” Leggett said.

Ben Holmes, managing director of Yango said: ‘We’re excited to be selected as the University of Sydney’s digital and media partner. We look forward to supporting their digital transformation journey and achieving great results domestically and internationally.”

University of Sydney director of marketing and communications, Johanna Lowe, said in a statement: “The University of Sydney is an iconic institution and we’re regularly ranked among the top 50 universities in the world. With M&C Saatchi and Yango we’ve got a great team in place to help us expand the University’s brand internationally to reach new audiences.”

She also thanked The Monkeys for their work.

“The ‘Leadership for good’ platform gives us a strong and authentic foundation for the brand. We’re really grateful to The Monkeys for all the work we’ve done together since 2014 to build this platform that our staff, student and alumni really connect with,” Lowe said.

“Yango has been a great collaborator on this work with us and we’re excited to strengthen this relationship. The M&C Saatchi team will bring a fresh perspective to our strategic and creative direction and help take our brand even further both in Australia and internationally.”
