Keeping The Band Together: You Am I lead singer Tim Rogers

Musician Tim Rogers – lead singer of acclaimed Australian rock band You Am I – and longtime musical collaborator Jen Cloher are to feature in a Mumbrella360 session discussing the secrets of enduring creative partnerships.

The session: Keeping The Band Together: The creative marriage of music and advertising – is curated by creative agency The Royals.

The discussion – which also features Google Play’s marketing head Sophie Hirst, and The Royals partners Andrew Sirka and Dave King – will explore why some creative partnerships deliver brilliant outcomes while others and vulnerable to self destruction.

Rogers is best known as lead singer of You Am I – the first Australian band to have released three successive albums debuting at number one in the ARIA Albums Chart (the other being Silverchair). The band has also won 10 ARIA Awards and been nominated more than 30 times.

He also fronted 2013 show Studio at the Memo for SBS’s subscription TV arts channel Studio, and the 2012 AFL finals promotional campaign. Last year, Rogers was one of seven iconic Australian personalities used in David Jones’ ‘It’s In You’ campaign, to personify “swagger”.

Cloher – an ARIA-nominated musician and label manager at Milk! Records – collaborated with Rogers on her track ‘Stone Age Brain’ two years ago. She also works with self-managed artists helping them to release music in Australia.

Today marks the final day of discounted early-bird tickets being available for Mumbrella360.
