Tuesday Tipple: Dr Mumbo’s venture into the cellar

After learning other trade publications are turning to the hospitality industry for alternative content, what better way to kick off Dr Mumbo’s own Tuesday Tipple than trying out Ollie Rapson’s lovely Pinot?

Rapson recently swapped out York St (now Cremorne) for his vines out in the Macedon Ranges, and Dr Mumbo also recently tested the fruits of his labour, in the form of a 2019 vintage Pinot Noir.

This cool climate drop left Dr Mumbo stumped, with its Shiraz-like texture cutting through the berry-heavy tasting notes.

Definitely rainy afternoon drinking material for Dr Mumbo, with its smooth – but quite intense full-body – with additional smells of old leather and cherries.

With Dr Mumbo’s newfound palate, and Sparrow’s own Michelin Star Guide taking form, could there be an unlikely industry duo on the cards?
