Nine’s dating show Married at First Sight lifts to 905,000 viewers on its second outing

The second outing of Nine’s controversial dating show Married at First Sight’s pulled in an extra 134,000 metro viewers last night, with 905,000 metro viewers tuning in, up on Monday evening’s series debut which saw 771,000 viewers tune in.

married at first sightIt was beaten by Seven’s My Kitchen Rules which was watched by 1.244m. Last night’s episode of Married at First Sight is down 19% compared with episode two of last year which was watched by 1.11m.

However, Married at First Sight did out-rate the ABC’s 7.30 which was watched by 599,000.

Looking at the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54), My Kitchen Rules was the most-watched program while Married at First was the second most-watched show amongst viewers aged 18-49 and 25-54 while those aged 16-39 preferred Seven Year Switch.

Seven won the night with an audience share of 23.6%, ahead of Nine’s share of 18.3%. Ten claimed third place with a share of 14.3% as the ABC settled for a share of 11.1%.

Nine’s troubled Reno Rumble, airing in its new 8.40pm timeslot, was watched by 352,000, down on last week’s audience of 370,000 when it aired in the earlier 7.30pm timeslot.

Reno Rumble series-to-date is down 51% compared with its 2015 series average.

On Ten, NCIS at 8.30pm was watched by 619,000, while NCIS: Los Angeles, airing from 9.30pm, pulled in 503,000.

At 9pm, Seven’s Seven Year Switch had an audience of 772,000.

On the ABC, Catalyst (8pm) grabbed 556,000 and Keeping Australia Alive (8.30pm) pulled in 466,000.

In the news battleground, Seven News at 6pm was watched by 1.044m, dipping to 973,000 from 6.30pm. Nine News at 6pm grabbed 1.016m metro viewers, sliding to 1.003m from 6.30pm.
