TV Wrap: AFL kicks goals for Seven in weekly ratings

Seven Network has won the weekly ratings comfortably thanks to the AFL, but Nine’s The Block was the top entertainment show of the week.

The Friday night AFL semi-final has brought in 1.15 million viewers nationally, including 834,000 in metro and 322,000 in regional.

The Saturday night game was slightly shy of that figure, with 1.04 million viewers nationally, including 750,000 in metro and 290,000 in regional.

This gave Seven a big uplift in the week ended 16 September, where the network finished with a 34% network share, followed by Nine with 26.4%.

On Sunday night, The Block aired to 786,000 metro viewers, finishing on top of The Voice on Seven. Nine won the night.
