Uber appoints Michelle Wood as director of communications
Ride sharing service Uber has appointed Michelle Wood as its director of communications.
Wood joins the company from her previous role as the general manager of marketing and communications at the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Uber’s previous head of communications, Cara Mygind, exited the company after just four months.
Mygind, who was previously the manager of communications and PR at Air New Zealand, joined the ride-sharing service in January and departed in May.
“I am incredibly passionate about the role Uber has played in transforming our cities and towns from how we get around, to how we make places and food more accessible to everyone, as well as how we work.
“As Uber continues to grow and mature across Australia and New Zealand, I look forward to working with our stakeholders to shape the next chapter of our evolution, because we’re just getting started,” Wood said in a statement.
Throughout her career she has also worked at the Australian Trade Commission, Momentum2 and Sydney Water.
