Uber launches a mock flight safety video in 72andSunny campaign
72andSunny has created a new campaign for Uber Australia, highlighting the safety features of the ride-sharing platform.
The 60 second ad imitates a classic airline safety video, pointing out the exits of the vehicle and phones displaying Uber’s support menu dropping from the ceiling like an oxygen mask.
The ad also highlights some of Uber’s newer features from its Safety Toolkit such as sharing your live location with others.
The campaign comes to the conclusion that at Uber ‘Safety never stops’.
A spokesperson from 72andSunny told Mumbrella: “We’re proud of our first work for Uber Australia.”
This ‘Safety never stops’ campaign will be executed across TV, cinema, social, OOH, online video and in-flight entertainment systems.
Uber’s current creative agency of record is Special Group, which was behind its latest brand campaign ‘See you soon’ which promoted its fast pick up times.
Special Group also created the Uber Eats ‘Tonight I’ll be eating’ campaign which debuted in 2017 with a number of celebrities at the helm and later starred Rebel Wilson and Lee Lin Chin. The campaign extended through to the Australian Open in which the ads appeared like live shots of the competition.
Uber Australia will be speaking at the Mumbrella Automotive Marketing Summit on August 8 in Sydney. Earlybird tickets are on sale now.
There’s something you don’t see every day. A white guy in an $800 suit driving an Uber.

This is exactly why people take Uber over cabs in a single ad. Well done.

Where is anyone running a 60 second ad these days?
