Unicorn takes lead from launch ambassador Rebel Wilson in new Stan campaign

Streaming service Stan has brought back the unicorn to front it’s latest ad push, taking the place of launch brand ambassador Rebel Wilson.

A Stan spokeswoman told Mumbrella this morning the horned pony, which featured with comedienne Wilson in the launch campaign, will take the lead in this latest phase, although she declined to say whether Wilson would be used in future campaigns.

She added: “We don’t want to reveal details of future campaigns at this time as our focus is on the current campaign in market. Rebel Wilson is a fantastic brand ambassador and we’d love to work with her again.”

Hailed as Stan’s “short-statured ambassador”, the unicorn will be featured across TV, press, OOH, digital, radio and content integration.

The campaign by AJF Partnership Sydney features the animal singing the brand name, bobbing to a beat, and eating across three separate adverts to promote the joint Fairfax Media and Nine Entertainment Co service’s $10-month subscription.

Wilson makes an appearance in a snippet from her show Super Fun Night, which will be broadcast on the platform.

A Stan spokesman said: “As Rebel is so popular and loved by audiences we wanted to make sure the show was included in our latest content edit.”

Fiona King, head of marketing at Stan added: “We are excited to have another brand ambassador that is loved by people of all ages.”

Adam Rose, founding partner at AJF Partnership, said: “This campaign is about simple sells – sharing with Australia the many unbelievably good reasons to stream with Stan. Throw in a miniature unicorn and things become truly unreal.”

The latest campaign comes after Screen Queensland announced a partnership with Stan to develop and finance a $1m feature film.

The winner of the Queensland Originals: Fully Funded Features commission will produce a film which will be carried exclusively on the subscription video on demand service.
