Wavemaker promotes Jonathan Orchard and Jake Whitten to sharpen precision marketing focus

Wavemaker Australia has promoted Jonathan Orchard and Jake Whitten in a move the agency says will strengthen its digital and precision marketing capabilities.

Orchard is stepping into the newly-created role of national head of SEM and e-commerce after a stint as search director. Whitten becomes national head of SEO and CRO, seeing him build upon his previous role as director of the two fields.

“Jake and Jonathan are both passionate, committed and resourceful team members and leaders, always focused on maximising results for our clients, and it’s great for all of us that they are taking on new roles and responsibilities,” said James Hier, chief growth and product officer.

“Their promotions and the creation of Jonathan’s new role as national head of SEM and e-commerce are an important part of Wavemaker’s commitment to being at the forefront of the shift to precision marketing that many of our clients are making.”

In the new role, Orchard is responsible for developing Wavemaker’s SEM product, resources and best practice, and discussing e-commerce with clients.

“Precision marketing is all about using digital data signals to find the right audiences and give them better brand experiences,” explained Hier.

“It does this by creating the right impact at every step of the purchase journey, making a successful outcome more likely, whether the goal is brand building or sales. Our aim remains to harness both magic and logic to make our clients’ campaigns even more successful.”

Wavemaker is part of GroupM, a division of WPP AUNZ.
