‘We are reframing strategy for a new era’: Clemenger BBDO boosts team with major strategy appointments
Creative agency Clemenger BBDO has turbocharged its strategy team with the appointment of four senior strategy experts.
Jon (JT) Turton, Vanessa (Ness) Quincey, Maya Mausli and Brooke Thompson have all been added to the Clemenger employee roster, resulting in far-reaching strategy expertise for the agency and its clients to use.
JT takes on the experience strategy director position. Having worked in the United Kingdom and Australia, JT’s expertise covers business transformation, customer experience (CX) and customer-focused design. Before Clemenger, he spent five years at AKQA, working as its associate strategy director from January 2019 to October 2022, and strategy director for approximately a year and a half.
He helped facilitate digital transformations for significant companies such as Country Road Group, Bunnings and JB Hi-Fi while at AKQA. Additionally, JT spent close to six years at Myer “driving ecosystem design and voice-of-the-customer initiatives”.
Meanwhile, Quincey steps on board as senior strategy director after spending the past 10 years in New York working various strategy roles, including as senior strategy director at VaynerMedia. The social and brand strategy professional has also completed stints at GREY and TBWA\Chiat\Day.
Mausli is joining the Clemenger team as head of product, tasked with creating solutions designed to help the agency’s clients better utilise “connections and content strategy, analytics, customer insight and enterprise AI”. Prior to her current gig, Mausli occupied numerous strategy positions at whiteGREY, HERO, AKQA and more.
Thompson will step into the agency as head of strategy. As a former strategy director at Mindshare and whiteGREY, she is expected to use her marketing and connections strategy to support Clemenger’s portfolio of clients, while managing the department.
“Clems has a long history of reframing businesses, behaviours and culture. Now, we are reframing strategy for a new era in culture, marketing, experience and technology with these world class talents. A company with Clems’ ambition needs strategists of this calibre,” commented Simon Wassef, chief strategy and experience officer at Celemenger BBDO.
“Ness is a gun whose grasp of how to build brands in culture is exactly what we need. Maya’s ability to solve really hard business problems is prodigious.
“JT enables us to drive our renowned brand thinking throughout the customer experience. Brooke’s insight and empathy make her an incredible head of strategy.
“I’m stoked to round out the strategy department with these legends alongside behavioural scientist Helena Duniec, brand strategist Cecilia Hund and head of cultural design, Rhian Mason.”
