Which Wilson? ABC announces wrong resignation from parliament
Dr Mumbo knows it’s been a tough few days for the ABC – it’s had its funding frozen and had to scale-back Gruen to just Gru – so it’s no wonder two politicians with the same surname became interchangeable.
While ALP Member for Fremantle Josh Wilson announced his resignation from parliament – another man with too many citizenships, it seems – the national broadcaster mistakenly announced Coalition MP for Goldstein, Tim Wilson, was giving a speech and resigning.
Um, @abcnews – that’s @JoshWilsonMP. I’m sitting through #QuestionTime pic.twitter.com/e17ZWJOI7U

So many Wilsons, so little time.
The error, Dr Mumbo notices, was quickly called out by Wilson Number Two (Tim) on Twitter, who assured the Twitterverse he was sitting through.
The case of mistaken identity has been corrected, but poor old Aunty appears to still be a victim of Google’s cacheing.
With so much disruption at the national broadcaster and indeed with its overlords in Canberra, perhaps Dr Mumbo should run for office? He’s is off to check his citizenship status…
Thank god for Mumbrella.
Imagine if this had gone unreported?
In other news, Fairfax misplaced a comma and Newscorp omitted an apostrophe. Also someone spilt their tea at Channel 7 and there was someone parked illegally at Channel 9. What is happening to the industry!?
Particularly ironic given how frequently Mumbrella gets stuff wrong, misspells words or posts unsubstantiated gossip.
