William Hill on hunt for creative agency ahead of local launch next year
UK bookmaker William Hill is searching for a creative agency ahead of a local launch of the brand into Australia next year, Mumbrella understands.
The parent company of TomWaterhouse.com, Sportingbet and Centrebet does not have a local presence under the William Hill brand, and sought to downplay the news suggesting it is a rumour following on from the purchase of TomWaterhouse.com, Sportingbet and Centrebet last year.
At the end of last year William Hill appointed UM to handle its media account, with Clemenger BBDO Melbourne picking up creative duties for its subsidiary brands apart from Tom Waterhouse, which is handled by Fenton Stephens.
Mumbrella understands the bookmaker is of the view there is room in the local market for another betting brand and has started talking to creative agencies ahead of a pitch for the business early next year.
In the UK the William Hill brand is handled by London-based agency Creature.

They pitched it out last year, but then aborted. After agencies pitched, some going through two rounds. What a bunch of disrespectful time-wasters. Mumbrella should call this behaviour out.
