Dr Mumbo

Do you work at the Herald Sun? Our sympathies

Dr Mumbo is aware of the various challenges facing print media in 2018 – but he didn’t realise the Herald Sun had somehow achieved charitable status.

Luckily for him, two “Millennial journalists”, Comedy Central’s Becky Lucas and Cameron James, have explained why purchasing the Melbourne paper is exactly like buying The Big Issue.

“If anyone knows anyone who works for Herald Sun…,” James said in a video to Mumbrella’s Entertainment Marketing Summit.

“Give them our sympathies,” Lucas interrupts.

“Please pass on our regards. I feel like buying the Herald Sun is like buying the Big Issue,” explains James.

“It’s an act of charity.”

“For people who are soon to be unemployed.”

“You are sort of giving back twice, you give back the moment you buy it and then you give back the moment that you leave it on a train seat for someone else to pretend to read,” Lucas said.

Dr Mumbo also learned the youths love Vice: “I actually wrote a really good article for Vice. It says ‘I went home with a little person and he didn’t make me cum, am I a bad person?’,” Lucas quipped.

Dr Mumbo ends the video wishing he was a Millennial – but if nothing else, he hopes to one day hear the ‘Loud Bitch and the Dumb Bloke’ radio show.
