Yahoo!7 focuses on lifestyle

Yahoo!7  has revamped its lifestyle channels.

The announcement:

SYDNEY, Australia, September 8, 2010 – Yahoo!7 today unveiled its new lifestyle destination including revamped Food, Fashion, Beauty, Homes, Pets, and Horoscope channels. The refreshed sites will allow users to interact and share content in a multitude of ways, including reading and creating blogs and sharing with social networking sites such as Facebook. In addition, a refreshed Heath and Fitness channel will be launched in the coming months.

The relaunched destination also boasts a strong base of expert bloggers to bring even more personality to the channels, including wellbeing guru Sarah Brooks-Wilson with The Wellbeing Files, beerologist Mark Chipperfield with his Beer Reviews, My Kitchen Rules season one winners Veronica and Shadi, and fashionista Kathryn Eisman with The Style Spy.

“We surveyed our audience earlier in the year and some of the things they wanted most was the ability to share ideas and experiences through blogs and photos,” said Kath Hamilton, Audience Director at Yahoo!7. “Along with bringing a greater array of voices, the new blogging functionality allows our users to blog within each channel, as well as new photo sharing modules that allow people to upload their own photos and see their pictures appear in galleries within our Lifestyle channels.”

In addition to the new features the site will continue to be the home for Yahoo!7’s Pacific Magazines’ partner brands whose content will be showcased throughout the homepage and individual channels.

Yahoo!7 has continued to be the number one lifestyle site* in Australia and it is expected this position will be strengthened by the announcement of the new lifestyle destination today.
