Yahoo7! extends partnership with tribalfootball

Yahoo7! has added the tribalfootball website to its network.

The announcement:

Sydney, 22 November 2010 – Yahoo!7 today announced an extension to its partnership with football content provider, tribalfootball, which will see integration of the popular football website into the Yahoo!7 Network, and advertising representation being provided by the Yahoo!7 sales team.

Yahoo!7 began its partnership with tribalfootball in May 2010, as part of an exclusive content syndication deal which saw tribalfootball providing Yahoo!7 with over 250 news stories per day from all of the world’s top football leagues including: Hyundai A League, English Premier League, La Liga (Spain), Serie A (Italy), plus various Asian Leagues and the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

According to Damon Scarr, National Media Sales Director at Yahoo!7, the extension of the deal will allow Yahoo!7 to exclusively sell tribalfootball’s standard IAB format ad units to their Australian audience. “The integration of the tribalfootball website into the Yahoo!7 Network is testament to the success of our ongoing partnership with the team at tribalfootball. Over the past year, the Yahoo!7 sales team has proven itself to be one of the best in market, and now being able to tap into an even wider audience of male sports fanatics aged 18-35 years will provide advertisers greater reach into this important audience segment.”

Talking about the latest announcement, Lou Sticca, CEO of tribalfootball said: “We are delighted that our already successful relationship with Yahoo!7 has extended further. Our traffic in Australia and internationally is growing, and like all businesses, we need to monetize our traffic to its optimum level. Yahoo!7 has a great reputation in the Australian market place and it was a considered move by us to extend our content deal into a more comprehensive relationship that now sees Yahoo! representing our site for advertising. We are looking forward to more success in the coming years and hope that Yahoo!7’s customers get to experience successful interactions with our growing user base.”

Headquartered in Melbourne, www.tribalfootball.com is a leading football and soccer website covering news, results, transfers and rumours on all the major players, coaches and leagues. Since 2000, it has grown to be one of the biggest independent global football websites with over 94 per cent of its traffic being international.
