YouTube ad-making service for used car dealers launches

A technology firm has launched a service that creates YouTube ads for secondhand car dealers.

Dealer Solutions is offering to make ads that consist of photos and automated descriptions of the cars on sale, which can be uploaded to a dealer’s YouTube channel. Dealers simply supply the copy and pictures of their inventory.

“Car buyers will still use Carsguide or Carsales to find the sort of car they’re looking for,” said Chris Vening, CEO of Dealer Solutions. “But with our service, a dealer will be able to offer the very model a buyer is looking for.”

“We think that long tail key words are the future for selling cars,” he said.  Car buyers used to just type in ‘used cars’. Now they do their research and type in exactly what they’re searching for.”

The service gives dealers a link to their website. The videos are playable on iPhones, iPads and web-enabled smartphones.

Vening said that the service will work because “Google loves YouTube videos in its rankings”.

“Research shows that people viewing search results are nine times more likely to click on a video than a text link. And YouTube clips are of course easily shared on social media, too. This solution maximises the power of YouTube for car dealers, and it is a completely ‘hands off’ process that stays in sync with a dealer’s current inventory levels.”
