Zenith wins Rio Tinto’s media account

Publicis Media’s Zenith has won the media account for multinational mining company, Mumbrella can reveal.

The win comes months after Marcel Sydney, another Publicis agency, won the creative account for the mining company.

Rio Tinto has assigned Zenith to its media account

Bernadette Murdoch, chief adviser of brand and communications at Rio Tino, said in a statement to Mumbrella: “Rio Tinto is pleased to have appointed Zenith to its media planning and buying account following a competitive pitch. We look forward to working with Zenith and our creative agency Marcel Publicis on our ongoing brand activity in Australia.”

Nickie Scriven, CEO, Zenith Australia, added: “Zenith is delighted to be appointed as Rio Tinto’s agency of record, and comes off the back of a successful 2018 for the agency, with both local and global new business wins.”

Zenith’s win comes after a raft of wins for the agency as it secured Luxottica and Lactalis‘ global media accounts.

The agency also managed to win the media account for ride-share company Didi in June last year.

Meanwhile, at the beginning of this year Matt James became the global brand president of Zenith.

James was previously the CEO of Publicis Media Australia and New Zealand.
